Welcome to TravelWithMe. This is a community built around a shared love of travel – discovering new places, finding compatible travel companions, and creating unforgettable experiences together.

To keep TravelWithMe a safe, respectful, and enjoyable space for everyone, we ask all members to follow these Community Guidelines. They apply to everything you do on TravelWithMe – your profile, your trips, your messages, your group chats, and your interactions with other members, both on and off the platform.

If you are honest, kind, and respectful, you will always be welcome here. If you choose not to be, your time on TravelWithMe may be short.

Our core values

TravelWithMe is a platform for finding travel companions and coordinating trips together – not a dating app, not a social media feed, and not a place for harmful behavior. We are committed to maintaining a community where everyone feels safe to express themselves, connect authentically, and explore the world.

Everyone is held to the same standard, regardless of who they are.

The rules

1. Protect your privacy – and others'

Share personal information thoughtfully. Do not publicly post your phone number, email address, social media handles, home address, or other identifying contact details on your profile, in trip descriptions, or in public-facing content.

Do not ask other members to share their personal contact details either. If someone asks you to move communication off TravelWithMe immediately, treat that as a red flag.

Be mindful about sharing your real-time location, specific arrival times, or accommodation details with people you do not yet know and trust.

2. This is not a dating app

TravelWithMe exists to help people find travel companions. It is not a dating platform and must not be used as one.

Do not send romantic, sexual, or suggestive messages to other users. Do not use the platform to pursue romantic or sexual relationships. Keep your interactions focused on travel, trips, and genuine connection as fellow travelers. Behaviour that violates this rule will be treated as harassment and may result in immediate account termination.

3. Be yourself – no fake accounts

Be authentic. Create an account only for yourself, using your real identity and genuine photos.

Do not impersonate another person, celebrity, or public figure.
Do not create fake or misleading profiles.
Do not use altered or deceptive photos that misrepresent your appearance.
Each person may only have one TravelWithMe account.

Fake accounts undermine trust in the entire community and will be removed.

4. Communicate respectfully

Treat every member of the TravelWithMe community with respect – in messages, in group chats, in trip discussions, and in public content.

The following are strictly prohibited:

Harassment, threats, intimidation, or bullying of any kind.
Hate speech, racism, bigotry, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, gender, gender identity, age, sexual orientation, physical appearance, or any other characteristic.
Sexually explicit, vulgar, or degrading language directed at other users.
Doxing – sharing another person's private information without their consent.
Blackmail or coercion of any kind.

TravelWithMe has zero tolerance for hate. We will never stand behind content or behaviour that demeans, threatens, or dehumanizes people.

5. Do not cause harm

Any behaviour – on or off the TravelWithMe platform – that suggests, intends, or causes harm to another member will be taken extremely seriously.

This includes:

Physical threats or acts of violence.
Digital harassment or cyberstalking.
Content that incites violence or hatred against individuals or groups.
Sharing non-consensual intimate images or content.
Any behaviour off-platform directed at someone you met through TravelWithMe that violates these Guidelines.

We take our responsibility to protect our community seriously. If we become aware of harmful behaviour, we will act swiftly.

6. Age requirement

You must be at least 16 years old to use TravelWithMe. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

If we become aware that a user is under 16, their account will be immediately removed.

7. No illegal content or activity

TravelWithMe must not be used for any unlawful purpose. This includes but is not limited to:

Distributing or promoting illegal content.
Fraud, scamming, or financial deception.
Human trafficking or exploitation.
Drug trafficking or promotion of illegal substances.
Any activity that violates applicable local, national, or international law.

8. Post only your own content

Respect intellectual property and the privacy of others.

Only post photos, videos, and content that you own or have explicit permission to share.
Do not share private messages, photos, or personal information belonging to other members without their consent.
Do not post content that infringes copyright, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights.

9. Keep it real – no spam or misinformation

Help us keep TravelWithMe a trustworthy space.

Do not spread false, misleading, or fabricated information.
Do not spam other users with unsolicited messages or promotional content.
Do not post harmful links, malware, or phishing content.
Do not create multiple accounts or use automated tools to interact with the platform.
Do not manipulate trip discovery, ratings, or any community features through artificial means.

10. Stay active

TravelWithMe is a living community. If your account has been inactive for 2 years, we may consider it dormant and remove it. If you want to remain visible and active in the community, simply log in from time to time.

Reporting

If someone is making you feel unsafe, uncomfortable, or is violating these Community Guidelines, please report it.

You can report users, trips, and chats directly within the TravelWithMe app. Every report is confidential – the person you report will never know you reported them.

Your reports help us protect the entire community. We take every report seriously and investigate promptly.

Consequences

We take violations of these Community Guidelines seriously. Depending on the severity and frequency of a violation, consequences may include:

A warning issued to your account.
Temporary suspension of your account or specific features.
Permanent termination of your account.

Severe violations – including but not limited to threats of violence, hate speech, sharing non-consensual intimate content, fraud, or illegal activity – may result in immediate and permanent account termination without warning and without refund of any purchases made.

We reserve the right to investigate and take action on behaviour that occurs off the TravelWithMe platform if it involves other members you connected with through TravelWithMe and constitutes a violation of these Guidelines or applicable law.

We also reserve the right to cooperate with law enforcement authorities where required by law or where we believe doing so is necessary to protect the safety of our users or the public.

Changes to these guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time to reflect the evolving needs of our community. We will notify you of significant changes within the app. Your continued use of TravelWithMe after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Guidelines.
